Be Safe in Utrecht

Utrecht does not have any major health issues that travellers need be concerned about. However, if visitors are planning to hire a car in Amsterdam it is best to have all the necessary documents ready. It is recommended that non-European travellers have an International Driving Permit.

Safety

It is always advisable to be a little cautious when travelling, as there are often pick-pockets and bag-snatchers at many tourist destinations. Travellers should remain alert to their surroundings and never leave their belongings unattended. Additionally, it is recommended that passports and things of value are left at your hotel safe instead of carried on your person.

Health

There are no immediate or obvious health risks for visitors to Utrecht. However, the winters can get quite cold here and it is best to prepare warm clothing and have proper shoes with good soles to avoid slipping on the ice. It is safe to drink tap water.

Travel insurance

We recommend that travellers bring with them a comprehensive travel insurance policy that protects them against loss of luggage, delayed flights and theft.  The policy will also provide medical coverage. Insurance cover will allow you peace of mind, so that you can enjoy your holiday knowing that you are well protected should anything unexpected occur.
