Venice Weather

The spring and summer seasons are perhaps the best times to pay a visit to Venice on account of the climate which offers warmth and relatively frequent periods of sunshine during these months.

Spring and summer

July and August are the city’s busiest months in terms of tourist influx, despite the fact that it can get very hot and humidity is high bringing with it the threat of afternoon storms. Into the autumn season, the weather generally remains fairly warm although occasional bouts of cold, damp and fog are to be expected.

Winter

If it’s a sightseeing holiday that you have in mind then you might prefer to head for the city between March and June or from September to October, as the weather is generally cooler during these months. November to February is perhaps the worst time to visit on account of the weather being subject to unpredictability. Heavy rain is not uncommon and icy winds are also a weather feature, so it’s wise to bring warm and waterproof clothing if you do plan to visit at this time. In spite of the weather however, it’s probably fair to say that Venice experiences a regular influx of visitors throughout the year.
