Rome Weather
The weather in Rome is warm almost all year round. Summers are long and hot, but since they are also dry, the heat isnt too intense. The high temperatures begin as early as May and often last into October. If you visit during the summer, get up and out early and take a break in the shade during the afternoon. Night-time is usually breezy and pleasant, so enjoy some outdoor time after dark. Winter brings some persistent rainy periods, but the temperatures stay mild.
The ideal seasons
Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Rome. The temperatures are pleasantly warm and theres plenty of sun. This is the best time of the year for the famous Roman sunsets. You also have the distinct advantage of somewhat lower crowds during these seasons, although the great weather isnt exactly a secret.
