Restaurants In Milan

Like other great Italian cities, Milan is right up there in the dining stakes, with a wonderful choice of Italian eateries as well as dishes available from around the world including Asian, Mexican and North African dishes. Dinners can be an all night affair and are generally not rushed by the locals, while prices are reasonable, considering Milan is the cultural heart of the north.

Local cuisine

Fish dishes in Milan are popular, as is pasta and local fresh produce including lovely ripe tomatoes, rich Italian cheeses and lashings of olive oil. Panini sandwiches and tramezzini (white bread sandwiches) are typical bar meals, along with the ubiquitous pizza slices and mouth watering salads. Breakfast in a Milan café usually consists of croissants and cream pastries, while lunch and dinner can be a serious affair with several courses including fish or meat as the main dish, followed by an espresso. Vegetarians are also well catered for in Milan, with most established restaurants offering a selection of dishes for those so inclined.
