Be Safe in Bari

Visitors to Bari should be extra careful on the road, since most signs are in Italian and driving etiquettes are different to those in the UK. In the summer, the sun can be very hot and you should take precautions to avoid sunburn. The quality of the tap water in most places is not good enough to drink so you should only drink bottled water, which can be bought in all supermarkets and shops.

Pickpockets are a problem in most tourist resorts; even those that seem quiet and peaceful, such as Bari. Visitors should remain on high alert, as they often become vulnerable in foreign environments. Another possible risk is driving in an unfamiliar country. It is highly recommended that travellers take out travel insurance before visiting Bari.
