Weather In Waterford

The Gulf Stream brings Ireland a cool and temperate climate, but it also brings a steady year-round dampness. However, on average, Waterford and the other southeastern counties, sheltered by the mountains, enjoy more sun and less rainfall throughout the year than some other Irish destinations.

Temperate

As in the rest of Ireland, Waterford doesnt normally fall below freezing, and snow and ice are rare here. Temperatures rarely move beyond 0C and 27C. While winter can be about six to eight months long, temperatures remain between 15C to 20C. During the wintertime, the daily temperature is between 6C and 7C. But expect rain, as many days will have a burst of rain followed by sunshine or a hanging mist. The wettest time of year is between December and February. The best time to visit is from June to October, with tourist arrivals being heaviest in July and August.
