Belfast Weather

Belfast offers a fairly temperate climate that sees plenty of rainfall throughout the year. Summers are never especially hot, while winters rarely see sub-zero temperatures. Since Belfast is a city where sightseeing comprises the usual tourist agenda, visitors can in theory take a vacation here at any time of the year.

Summer

During the months of June, July and August, you can expect mean daily highs of 16.5 ºC  to 17.5ºC and rainfall of 2.5mm to 3.5mm. While rainfall can certainly be expected at this time of the year, it is still an ideal time to visit. Visitors will get away with light clothing for the most part.

Winter

Winters stretch from November through to February and see daily highs of between 1 ºC and 3.5ºC, which require you to bring some warm winter clothing if you decide to pay a visit during this season. Rainfall averages between 2mm and 3.5mm, so something waterproof and some good footwear is advisable if you are planning to get out and about.
