Be Safe in Paros
The Greek islands are fairly safe and innocuous, with a lower key atmosphere than crowded Spanish beaches, for example. Paros gets busy in July and August, but overcrowding is not usually a problem. Drunken fights, pickpocketing and sunstroke are the main threats.
Safety
Pickpocketing is a mild problem in the tourist areas and in bars or nightclubs, but the locals are generally docile and decent. Youre more likely to be threatened by outsiders, as the Greeks are fairly honest.

Health
Perhaps the biggest health threat while visiting Paros is the sun; wear lots of sun block and always have a bottle of water to hand. Although tap water is supposed to be potable, foreigners might not want to take a chance. There is also a high incidence of minor road accidents. Greece does not have a good reputation for road safety and the island has winding, hilly roads. Mostly, accidents occur not because of speeding locals, but because of visitors who are unfamiliar with their rented bikes.
Travel insurance
Free healthcare is available to citizens of EU countries when in Greece, as long as they are in possession of the relevant documentation. If not, you will be liable to pay the expenses and will have to reclaim them at a later date. This might not cover the cost of emergency repatriation. To ensure you have peace of mind over lost luggage, ferry accidents, road safety hazards or theft, a European short-trip travel insurance plan is recommended.
