Weather In Mykonos
Mykonos enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. There is very little rainfall in Mykonos, and the hottest time of the year is in July and August, when temperatures can reach the high 30s. However, the regular winds on the island serve as a cooling factor and the temperature in these months averages 28C. Winters on the island are mild and generally very pleasant.
Sunshine and winds
Mykonos is famous both for its long sunny spells (frequently as many as 300 days of sunshine a year) and its winds. In the winter months, winds from the south such as the Sirocco bring red rain, the result of red sand from deserts bordering the Mediterranean. The winds that help to cool the island in the summer are northerly and include the Meltami.
