Be Safe in Leipzig
As with most cities in Germany, Leipzig is a very safe place to travel to. However, as with all cities, there are the usual petty criminals who may try and steal from you if you are not on your guard. Healthcare here is good and pharmacies are widespread.
Safety
It is advisable to always keep hold of all of your belongings, especially in busy tourist areas, but other than that, you should not be bothered by crime. It is, however, important to ensure you have adequate travel insurance before you travel. This will ensure you are not left destitute in a foreign country should an unforeseen event occur that would otherwise leave you out of pocket.

Health
No specific vaccinations are required to enter Germany. However, if you are travelling from a country which is infected with yellow fever, you will need to provide a vaccination certificate before entry will be permitted.
You will find excellent sanitation standards in all of Leipzig’s restaurants, as they are constantly monitored. Tap water is safe to drink, although most locals prefer to drink bottled water, especially in restaurants.
Healthcare facilities are very good in the city, and if you are a citizen of an EU country, you will be entitled to free emergency healthcare as long as you can produce a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
