Heidelberg Restaurants

Eating ou in Heidelberg is a rewarding experience, as there are many kinds of restaurants to choose from including German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian and many more. It is not uncommon to join a table with strangers and the chances are, you will end up making new friends. Local people are very friendly and you can often find a group of university students hanging out in one of the small pubs, gobbling up local food and drinking local beer. Locals also enjoy snacking on local specialties like ‘brezel’ (pretzels), which can also be found on the Haupstrass. Cafés are very popular in the summer, especially in the Marktplatz, where you can find both locals and tourists relaxing in the sun.
