Dusseldorf Weather
The climate in Germany varies considerably from east to west, with the west being the most temperate area. In addition, northwestern and coastal Germany are characterised as having a maritime climate caused by warm western winds from the North Sea, with warm summers and mild but drizzly winters.
Seasonal variation
Dusseldorf is situated in this west/northwest area, and sees temperatures in the winter that hover around freezing, but rarely drop below 0°C. The summer temperatures don’t usually climb higher than around 25°C, but there is frequent rainfall.
When to visit
The best times to visit Dusseldorf are in the spring and summer. Spring is quite mild and refreshing after the bleak and damp winter. After winter has passed, Dusseldorf stays relatively cool throughout the year. For example, if you are planning a trip during the summer months, there really isn’t a month to avoid, as it’s never really hot. Rain is a consideration in the summer, as this is the season for the highest rainfall.
