Dresden Weather

Dresden lies in the central/eastern part of Germany and experiences a relatively cold climate, when compared with that of other Western European countries. Summers are fairly warm and humid, while winters can be very cold with lots of snow.

Summer

July and August offer the warmest temperatures, with highs around 30°C and lows of about 15°C. Evening temperatures are rarely balmy, owing to Dresden’s deep positioning within the continent, so tourists visiting during the summertime should definitely take a sweater or two. The only problem with visiting Dresden during the summer is the crowds and the rain; June and July are the wettest months of the year on average. May, August and September are particularly good months to visit if you want to avoid getting wet.

Winter

After October, the weather in Dresden is generally rainy and cold, with a second rainy season beginning in November and daily highs of 10°C and lows of 0°C.
