Toulouse Weather

The region around Toulouse has a temperate climate, with mild but rainy winters and hot, often humid summers. Although the winter months between November and February are nothing like the cold, snowy affairs of northern Europe, Toulouse does see its share of days and nights with freezing temperatures and the occasional snowfall.

Summer

Summers in this part of Europe are quite warm, especially in July and August, when the humidity really kicks in and Toulouse feels like a greenhouse. This is arguably the worst time to visit the city, as the entire nation of France goes on holiday at the same time during these two summer months. Travelling becomes a nightmare and everything gets crowded and busy.

Shoulder seasons

The ideal time to visit Toulouse is during the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn. The weather during these months, in particular in May and October, is generally pleasant and sunny, although things can change quickly in the form of afternoon thunderstorms. Mornings are often cool, while afternoons get hot and then it cool down again after dark. Best of all, there aren’t many tourists at these times, so you feel like you have the city to yourself.
