St Tropez Weather

Weather conditions in St Tropez are almost perfect year-round. Even when rainfall does occur, it doesn’t usually set in for long and visitors can be sure that most days of their holiday will be sunny. Temperatures do not fluctuate greatly during the year, with the town escaping the searing heat of summer and cold damp winters that characterise some other Mediterranean locations.

Summer

Although quite hot, St Tropez doesn’t experience the soaring temperatures that some other popular Mediterranean destinations do, and temperatures tend to hover around the 30°C mark. From June to August, the humidity is not too high and the heat is tempered by the constant maritime breezes. As such, the summer holiday season is one of the favourite times to visit, and many of the beaches can become quite crowded.

Winter

Typically lasting from December to February, winters in St Tropez are very mild and can be quite comfortable outdoors with the reliable sunshine. Average daytime temperatures are in the mid to low 10°C, and actually feel a lot warmer if you are in the sun and the wind is not blowing. While not as crowded as summer, winter can be busy, with some excellent ski slopes less than an hour away for those who wish to base themselves in a lively, chic town when not exerting themselves on the pistes.

Autumn and spring
For most, these are the best times of year weather-wise to visit St Tropez, and also the seasons with the best bargains. Highs are a very comfortable 20°C and the mercury doesn’t dip too much at night. While you may miss out on the celebrity-watching of the summer months, temperatures in spring are extremely pleasant, with warm days and cool nights, even though the possibility of rain is higher than in summer or winter.
