Be Safe In St Tropez
As with many places that attract the rich and famous, undesirable elements are also attracted and when visiting St Tropez, particularly in the summer, you should exercise due care in looking after your belongings. Apart from petty theft however, the town is very safe and can be comfortably walked around at any time of day or night without great risk of danger, and the level of risk decreases significantly outside peak holiday seasons. There are no particular health concerns either, and if you are up-to-date with standard vaccinations then you will have little to worry about apart from sunburn.
Safety
While nowhere near as risky as neighbouring Marseille, pickpockets and opportunistic thieves can be a nuisance in St Tropez, especially in the popular summer months. Keep your belongings close to you and in sight in both public and private venues, and be particularly vigilant at the beach. People using their own transportation should leave nothing of value in their vehicle when parked, as the parking lots with the best security are often full, meaning you may be forced to park well away from your destination. If this is the case, your car may well be broken into while you are away.
