St Tropez Transport
St Tropez itself is very small and visitors can easily reach most destinations in the town on foot. However, bicycle hire is very popular and allows cyclists to venture farther to the beaches and across the headland to small villages. Motorcycle and car hire are also convenient options, although getting around the town and to and from the beaches can be time consuming in summer months if you rent a car. However, this is offset by the freedom cars offer for exploring the magnificent Provence countryside. Taxis are readily available and there are convenient minibus services shuttling tourists between the town and the beaches.
By bus
Buses leave the Gare Routiere bus station frequently for the farthest beaches - Tahiti, Pampelonne and L’Escalet. There is also the convenient minibus service that operates from Place des Lices, but this only goes as far as Pampelonne.
Taxis
There are numerous taxis around St Tropez, which are available for both short and long distance hire. Taxis can either be found at designated taxi stands or hailed from the side of the road. Additionally, taxis can be pre-booked to pick you up from your lodgings.
Tourist services
The minibus service in St Tropez is frequent and convenient. Buses leave from Place des Lices in the town centre and stop at many places between St Tropez and Pampelonne Beach. Services run well into the night, allowing tourists to relax at beachside nightspots before heading back to their accommodation.
From the airport
There are convenient shuttle options to St Tropez from any of the three regional airports at Toulon Hyeres, Nice and Marseille. Buses leave at least hourly and take around 90 minutes from Nice and Marseille, and only 60 minutes from Toulon.
