Rennes Weather
Weather in Rennes
Rennes typically has a moderate climate with warm summers and mild winters, and the possibility of rain anytime of the year, although not enough to spoil your trip.
Summer
The busy summer months of July and August can get extremely hot in Rennes, with temperatures hitting the high 30s, although it is rare for it to be so uncomfortably hot. It should be noted that this is not a place for guaranteed sunshine with the possibility of rainy days at any time of the year. The advantage of rainfall here and in Brittany in general can be seen in the lush green countryside.
It does, unfortunately, suffer from the same climate syndrome as the United Kingdom with variable weather coming off the North Atlantic.
Winter
Rennes benefits from very mild winters, with snow and temperatures below zero unheard of, which makes it a possible winter destination. There tends to be more rainy days towards the end of the year, but the January to March period is consistent with the steady annual pattern.
