Restaurants In Paris
France is known the world over for its delectable cuisine and Paris is no exception. As a leader in café culture, you will never have to walk farther than a block to find a café with pleasant outdoor terrace seating where you can indulge in one of the nation’s favourite pastimes – people watching. Parisians enjoy a morning coffee on their way to work, whether it is an espresso at the bar or a latté seated outside, while the city’s bakeries and the delights that lie within them make for the perfect breakfast snack, with chocolate croissants and fresh baguettes topping the list of favourites.
Local cuisine
Paris does not have an individual style of cooking all of its own, but you will find famous regional dishes in restaurants around the city, with specialties including escargots (snails) cooked in garlic; truffles; and foie gras as well as plenty of seafood-based dishes, with everything from lobsters, crayfish and mussels to oysters on the menus. The great range of regional dishes available in Paris means you can sample dishes from all over France without actually having to travel anywhere.
Meanwhile, Paris is a multicultural city, with its residents of mixed ethnicities bringing with them and assortment of cuisine. It is possible to find almost any type of world cooking here, with North African, Italian, Vietnamese and Indian topping the list, while the less adventurous can rest assured that fast food favourites are also widely available.
Meals are enjoyed at leisure in Paris, with conversation and wine flowing equally and many meals are polished off with the serving of a cheese board. French cheeses are among the best the world has to offer, making it no surprise that the French eat more cheese than any other nation in the world. Don’t miss out on trying everything from camembert and brie to tasty and fragrant goats’ cheese.

Where to eat
Like every European capital, there are restaurants spread across the city, with plenty of eateries in all the tourist hotspots; however, these are unlikely to be very good value for money. While the main shopping centres such as Galleries Lafayette, Printemps and Samaratine offer eateries for those on the move, there are also plenty of choices in and around the other shopping zones such as along the Champs-Élysées.
For dinner, why not head somewhere a bit more atmospheric, such as Montmartre, where you will find quaint little eateries with terraces set among art and souvenir shops, some of which have pleasant views of the city. For a unique dining experience, the Eiffel Tower has two restaurants, should you be able to stomach your food at such a height.
