Getting to Orleans

By car

Only an hour away from Paris, Orleans is ideally situated on the intersection of many major routes. The N20 leads to and from Paris, Orleans and Toulouse, while the A10 begins in Paris and leads to Bordeaux via Orleans. When driving from Paris, take the N20 or A10 south, and if you are travelling from Tours, follow the A10 north. Major road links also connect Orleans to Le Havre, Dieppe, Caen and Cherbourg.

By rail

Ten trains per day make the trip to Orleans from Pariss Gare dAusterlitz. The journey takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Twelve trains a day connect Tours and Orleans, with a journey time of approximately 50 minutes. Buses are reliable and efficient with comfortable and clean carriages and buffet cars are found on the majority of trains.

By bus

Orleans is an ideal base from which to explore the entire Loire Valley. There is a good regional bus service available in the city which follows routes to a number of destinations across the valley. By air

Orleans Airport is situated about 20kms east of Orleans. The facility provides access to business and light tourist aircraft only. The majority of the visitors fly to one of Paris airports, such as Charles de Gaulle or Orly. Orleans is located just 100kms south of the French capital and can be reached by car in just over one hour. From Paris, you can also choose to take a train or bus.

Taxis

Taxis operate services in the city and provide the fastest and most convenient way of reaching local destinations. Always agree on the fare before you commence the ride as meters are not always used.
