Transportation to Monaco

Nice International Airport, about 45 minute drive away, is the nearest airport to Monaco. The airport operates a number of flights to many European cities and also limited transatlantic flights. If you want to come to Monaco from Nice by car, take the N7 northeast. If you drive to Monaco from Paris, follow the A6 to Lyon and take the A7 south to Aix-en-Provence and the A6 to Monaco. Taxi rides from Nice to Monaco are also affordable and fast. Alternatively, there are rail services to and from Cannes, Nice, Antibes and Menton arrivingin Monaco at the Monte Carlo station. Bus services are also provided daily between Monaco and Nice, Beaulieu and Mention. The buses depart Monaco every 15 minutes.

What to see

There are many stunning sights to be seen in Monaco. Visit Monte Carlo Casino, a famous landmark, where you can hobnob with crme de la crme of the world. Monacos Royal Palace is also worth stopping by. You can admire the 13th century architectural grandeur with a mix of add-on styles displaying a perfect blend of tastes of every Grimaldi who ruled Monaco duringits 700-year history. If you have a car, travelling around Monaco is very rewarding. You can head to Nice which isthe centre of commerce andvery famous among tourists for its busy nightlife. Once in Nice, make sure to stop by the exotic Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Cathdrale Sainte Rparate, Palais Lascaris and the Opra House. There are also many museums around the area. Alternatively, head to Anitbes where you can find many charming sandy beaches. Also visit Cannes and spot the many celebrities or drop by Saint Tropez for a glimpse ofthis expensive resort.

Monaco is one of the tourists favourite spots. The wealthy ones come here to have a vacation and toget pampered. The less wealthy ones come here to observe therich and their lifestyle. Restaurants and cafs are very expensive and there are also a variety of boutique shops around. For a nice, relaxing stroll while gazing at the gigantic yachts, head to the marina, which is quite fun to explore.

Safety issues

Even though there are not so many things to worry about when you are in Monaco, you will still have to be on guard especially at night. Travelling to unfamiliar areas can be dangerous and water sports are prone to accidents. Taking travel insurance for you and your family is strongly recommended.
