Be Safe In Monaco
The principality of Monaco is a very unique place when it comes to countries around the globe. The prince does his best to ensure that peace and order are kept at all times and in all places. Also, the type of people who live here and frequent Monaco are wealthy enough to ensure that petty crime is kept to a minimum. There simply isn’t any rundown or deprived part of the principality.
Safety
That being said, because there is so much money floating around Monaco, it is a prime destination for opportunistic thieves and con artists. Vehicles with out-of-town and rental license plates are commonly targeted, so never leave anything of value in your car. Pickpockets and thieves typically work around the main tourist attractions such as the museums, beaches, hotels and train stations. Wearing your bag across your body instead of hanging off your shoulder is a good way to deter an easy theft. Concealed money belts are also a good idea if you plan on going out to the clubs until the early hours, when things may get blurry.
The best thing about the crime in Monaco is that it is rarely violent. The chances of being attacked are slim, but when heavy drinking or drugs are involved at the nightclubs, anything can happen. Big losers at the casinos may also decide to take out their agony on unsuspecting victims.

Health
More than likely, the only physical pain you’ll suffer during your trip to Monaco is a hangover from drinking too much or sunburn. Drink plenty of water throughout the day when you are out and about to ensure you stay hydrated. Also, it’s a very good idea to use sunscreen whenever you venture out to the beach or into the water. The sun in the Mediterranean is very strong and can burn you red as a lobster in just a few hours if you aren’t careful.
If anything serious does happen, don’t worry. Monaco has an excellent hospital with all the latest facilities as well as complete ambulance services. It’s always a good idea to pick up some travel insurance before you leave home. Make sure it includes complete medical coverage.
