Dijon Weather

A ‘mustard’ city in Burgundy, a region that is world-famous for its cheese and wine, Dijon enjoys its location in the centre of the Côte d'Or, where the mild weather welcomes visitors to enjoy idyllic sceneries of the countryside and local gastronomic delights. Usually taken for a typical modern town at a glance, the charming Dijon has more to it than meets the eye. Hidden in the centre are beautiful half-timbered houses and hotels, exuding medieval feel and a romantic air.

Hot summer, mild winter

Dijon sees mild weather year-round. Summer falls from July to September, with July and August being the hottest months. The average temperature in summer is around 20°C, which is still bearable for most tourists. The months you should avoid are March, April and May, when it rains almost everyday. December is the coolest month, with daytime temperature around 5°C. It never gets too cold in Dijon and snow is very uncommon.

The ideal time to visit Dijon is in the springtime, when the city is usually very gorgeous and temperatures range between 10°C and 15°C - perfect for strolling around the city or sipping coffee at one of the cosy cafés and people-watching.
