Getting to Deauville

Deauville offers no problems regarding transportation to the town. Getting around town is also relatively simple. The road network makes driving here easy and also provides quick routes for local buses. Trains run direct from Paris, while ferries connect England with the nearby towns of Caen and St Malo. Air access is provided by either Caen or Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, while Deauville Saint-Gatien Airport offers limited connections.

By car

Deauville is well-served by Frances excellent road network and access is available from most major destinations. From Paris, the A13 provides direct access to the town, with a journey time of a little over 2 hours. From Caen, drivers can take the N176 followed by the N177. Once in the town, getting around is easy, as Deauville is not especially big and the roads are well-signposted.

By rail

Direct connections are available from Paris Saint-Lazare to Deauville-Trouville Station. Services run regularly throughout the day, every day of the week.

By bus

Bus services connect Deauville with Caen, Honfleur and Le Havre, and are provided by Bus Verts du Calvados, which run regularly throughout the day. From EU countries, Eurolines provides bus services to France; for more information visit their website at: www.eurolines.com.

By air

Deauville Saint-Gatien Airport provides limited air connections between the town and other parts of France as well as other countries. It is a minor facility however, and it only operates chartered flights, so most international visitors fly into Paris and make their way by rail or road into the town. Flying to Caen Airport from Paris is also a viable option.

Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport is a major facility offering an extensive selection of passenger services and amenities, which includes ATMs, banks and extensive shopping and dining options.

From the airport in Paris, you can transfer easily to the city by bus, train or taxi and then take a connecting rail or bus service to Deauville.

By ferry

Brittany Ferries provide daily services between Portsmouth, England and Caen and St Malo. Visitors can sail to either port then make their way by road to Deauville. Services to St Malo are also provided by P&O Ferries.
