Corsica Health And Safety
There are few major health and safety concern in Corsia; however, visitors should go well prepared for any eventuality.
Safety
Violence surrounding the Corsican separatist movement has calmed down in recent years, although it was only the last decade that saw a surge in political and Mafia-related killings. Separatist sentiment is on the wane and mostly the goal of radicals these days. But while such violence has usually had little effect on tourists, travellers to Corsica should regardless be aware of the struggle during their stay.
Other safety concerns are mainly the same as in any tourist destination, with vacationers often attracting petty thieves. Be aware of your surroundings and if you rent a car, be sure to leave nothing visible in it after parking, storing your belongings in your room or in the hotel safe. When walking at night, stick to lighted areas along the beach and nearby roads.

Health
Health concerns are few in Corsica, or roughly the same as you would expect in Western Europe. Medical care is good and hospitals are located in the main towns of Ajaccio, Bastia and Corte, and they have experience with injuries sustained during outdoor sport activity such as canoeing. Take note that for medical treatment you will need relevant EU documentation in order to receive free health care.
