Cannes Transport

Options for getting around Cannes are limited to buses and taxis. The city’s public bus services are regular and efficient, and cover a large number of locations. Prices are also quite reasonable and savings can be made by buying passes or books of tickets. Centrally regulated taxis provide the only other transport alternative, unless of course you opt for a hire car, which will give you the freedom to come and go as you please and in considerably more comfort.

By bus

Buses constitute the city’s only form of public transport and services are provided by a number of different companies including CTM Cannes La Bocca, Beltrame, Bus Azur and STU de Cannes Bus Azur. Services run between the two bus stations and a variety of other locations in the city such as the port, train station and the town hall. Single fares can be paid on board the bus, while 10-journey books and week passes can be bought both on board and from the bus stations.

Taxis

Taxis are readily available across the city and are regulated by the government. They can either be hailed or booked by telephone (tel: +33 4 9299 2727) and excluding in times of adverse traffic conditions, any destination within the city centre can be reached in approximately five minutes. If you book by telephone, you can expect to pay a pick-up charge. Extra charges are applied for excess luggage or extra passengers.

From the airport

Public transport options from the airport are comprised of trains and buses, which provide efficient and relatively cheap services. Many visitors will find that their hotels provide free shuttles from the airport to their establishments. For those that don’t have this service included with their accommodation, taxis are readily available.
