By bus
Public bus services in the Avignon region are provided by TCRA (Transports en Commun de la Région d’Avignon), with services to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, Le Pontet and Les Angles. Buses commence at 07:00 and operate until 19:40 from Monday to Saturday, with a restricted service on Sundays. Services operate longer hours during the Avignon Festival and reduced ticket prices are in operation. Passengers can pre-purchase tickets from shops displaying the TCRA logo, which then must be stamped on boarding or payment can be made on the bus itself.
Taxis
Taxis are readily available for hire in Avignon and are centrally operated by Taxi Radio Avignonnais. Cabs can be hailed curb side or booked by telephone (tel: +33 4 9082 2020). Taxi ranks can be found at Raspail, St Lazare and Place Pie as well as in front of the new TGV rail station and the main central station.
From the airport
Ground transportation options from Marseille Provence Airport are comprised of shuttle buses and taxis. The former run from outside the airport to the centre of Marseille, while the latter can be hired from outside the Arrivals areas. Alternatively, you might want to consider hiring a car and making your own way from the airport to Avignon. From Caumont Avignon Airport, taking a taxi is the only transport option unless you hire a car at the airport.
