Travelling To Antibes
Antibes is conveniently located along the main travel route of the French Riviera. You can take a train or bus directly to the station in Antibes or fly into the airport at Nice, 22kms to the east. If you are driving, you can approach Antibes from several different directions.
By car
France’s motorway network links the Riviera to the rest of Europe. If you are arriving from the south, follow the E1 east from Cannes and take the turn off to the south for Antibes, which leads right into the old city centre. From Nice, take the E1 west until you reach the turn off for Antibes.

By rail
Both high-speed and express trains link Antibes to the major cities in France and all major European cities. The TGV Mediterranee high-speed line will whisk you from Paris to Nice in about 5 hours, 30 minutes. Nice is the major crossroads for all trains arriving from Paris, northern France and Italy. Trains make the 10-minute journey from Cannes to Antibes railway station at place Pierre Semard every 20 minutes. From Nice, trains arrive every 30 minutes and take 18 minutes to complete the trip. By bus
There are lots of buses arriving at Nice every day, which is the main travel hub for this part of the French Riviera. Once you reach Nice, the Cars Phoceens bus company runs three buses a day that stop at Antibes. The city’s bus station is La Gare Routiere, at place Guynemer (tel: +33 04 93 34 37 60). Many buses also have direct links with Antibes from towns throughout Provence.
By air
The nearest airport to Antibes is Nice Cte d’Azur, 22kms away in Nice. Nice’s airport is the second largest in France and handles direct flights from over 90 destinations throughout France, Europe and the UK. Once you have arrived at the airport in Nice, you can take a shuttle bus, local train or taxi to Antibes.
By ferry
Both Nice and Cannes are Mediterranean ports of call for large cruise lines. Although it’s not a convenient way to reach Antibes, it is possible to take a ferry from Corsica and other coastal towns to Nice.
Nice Cte dAzur Airport
The airport at Nice is about 22kms from Antibes and offers the easiest and quickest way to get to this town. Second only to Paris’ airports in size, the airport at Nice handles more than nine million passengers each year, with connections to New York, the Middle East and most cities across Europe.
There are two terminals at the airport, connected by a shuttle bus. Both terminals have ATMs, banks and bureaux de change. Terminal 1 is the larger of the two and has a post office, pharmacy and 24-hour medical centre. Information desks can be found in both terminals (tel: +33 04 93 21 30 30).
Nice Cte dAzur airport transportation
There are several ways to get from the airport at Nice to Antibes. Trains depart from the Gare St Augustin, which is just 500 metres from Terminal 1, directly to Antibes every 30 minutes. Buses go directly from Terminal 1 to Nice’s central bus station every 12 minutes, from where you can catch a bus to Antibes.
Private shuttle bus services also operate from the airport directly to the town centre in Antibes. Check with the airport information desk for help. Taxis are available 24 hours from outside the Arrivals Hall of both terminals. Some of the nicer hotels in Antibes have their own shuttle pick up services; check with your hotel to see if they offer this service. To drive from the airport, you can simply take the autoroute A8 or the smaller RN98 or RN7 roads which lead straight to Antibes.
