Weather In Aix-en-provence

Summer

Temperatures throughout the summer average 26°C, although often reach highs in the 30s. Summer is also the peak tourist time of year, as people travel here to enjoy the summer sun.

Winter

Winters are generally very mild, although temperatures can reach lows of just 5°C in January.

Autumn and spring
The months of September and October see temperatures remaining quite high and it is still enjoyable to swim in the sea and do a spot of sunbathing in the autumn months. Springtime in Aix sees more rain than any other time of year, so if you are travelling to the town in April or May, bring an umbrella.

The entire region of Provence is renowned for the Mistral wind; a cold, dry northwesterly wind that is blown down the Rhone Valley and can reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. It is at its most ferocious during winter and spring.
