Getting around Copenhagen is an easy affair on account of the city’s comprehensive public transportation network, which includes extensive bus and rail services plus the newly added Metro system, which is set for further expansion. Services are frequent and have a reputation for being reliable.Public transport in the city operates on a single ticket system, allowing passengers to pay once and transfer between different modes of transport in order to reach their destination.
By Metro

By train
Commuter trains, known as S-Trains, provide coverage to most areas of metropolitan Copenhagen, with services commencing from and terminating at Copenhagen Central Station. Services are provided by the Greater Copenhagen Authority and tickets are transferable to other modes of transportation that are provided by the same body.
By bus
Buses are also operated by the Greater Copenhagen Authority and provide extensive coverage of the city and suburban areas. Services run from 05:00 to 00:00 and again, tickets are transferable.
Taxis
Taxis can either be booked by telephone or hailed in the street and operate metered services. If you are running to a strict schedule, you should consider booking ahead with one of the city’s main taxi companies such as Codan Taxi (tel: +45 7025 2525) or Taxamotor (tel: +45 3810 1010).
From the airport
Many visitors with reservations at reputable Copenhagen hotels will find that free shuttle services are available to transport them from the airport to their accommodation. For others, there are speedy and reliable trains, plus regular bus services and taxis. Car hire companies provide an alternative option.
