Prague Leisure

There is no network of sporting facilities in Prague that caters for foreign visitors.  Facilities are limited and the range of sports on offer is very small compared to many other major cities.

There has been major sporting success in Czechoslovakia from the likes of Martina Navratilova, Ivan Lendl and the Czech ice hockey team, who won the Olympic gold in 1998.

Skating

Ice-skating is a very popular pastime, but ice rinks are only open for one to two hours a day and at weekends. In the winter, outdoor skating on the reservoirs is popular and there is the added bonus of being able to enjoy stunning scenery while you skate.

Fitness centres

Visitors will find fitness centres on many streets of Prague. Most are member-only gyms and many have dubious levels of supervision and care. If you want to go to a gym, the top hotels usually have fitness centres that can be used for a small fee.

Walking

Walking is often the best form of exercise and walking around the streets of Prague can be a wonderful experience. The major attractions are all within walking distance and during the summer months, many of the streets are lined with blossoms and flowers, making walking anywhere a very pleasurable experience.
