Prague Restaurants
The steady increase in tourist figures in Prague have led to an increase in restaurants opening in the city and consequently to an improvement in hygiene standards. The cuisine has become a lot more cosmopolitan with the influence of foreign visitors. Many restaurants throughout the city cater only for foreign tourists, as the majority of Czechs can’t afford to eat in the city’s top international restaurants.
Local cuisine
Prague offers a wide variety of cuisines including Chinese, Indian, French and Italian as well as traditional Czech restaurants serving traditional Czech foods.
Traditional local cuisine usually includes pork or beef served with dumplings and vegetables, although western influence has replaced the dumplings with French fries in many places. Fish is also widely eaten and often accompanied by Czech beer.

Where to eat
Some of the restaurants throughout Prague offer fantastic views across the city. You will find many riverside restaurants with stunning views, international restaurants in the centre of town as well as an excellent quality of food being served in many hotels. The best local restaurants can be found in the suburbs, all within a short walk of the city’s metro stations. You will need to have cash on you, as many smaller restaurants do not accept credit cards.
Fast food chains such as McDonalds have found their way to Prague and are often filled with children on foreign school trips.
