Paphos Weather

Paphos is blessed with an almost perfect climate for sightseeing. Summers are long, hot and sunny, while winters are mild and generally rain-free. Spring and autumn are quite short and experience variable temperatures. Summers last from mid-May to mid-October, winters from December to February, with spring and autumn in between. Even for the Mediterranean, Paphos is dry with what little precipitation there is, falling mainly in the winter months. In addition, most days are cloud-free, so tourists can plan their activities with confidence.

Summer

Summers in Paphos are very hot and dry, with the mercury sometimes touching 40°C. The days are long and sunny with little chance of rain. The average daily temperature is in the low to mid 30s however and the prevailing coastal breezes make the heat quite bearable. Days have around 14 hours of sunlight, so there is plenty of time to do a variety of activities during the summer.

Winter

Paphos winters are quite mild and while it is still generally dry, this is the time of year when the most rain falls. The weather is often changeable, with some cloudy days. Even so, most winter days are fine, sunny and warm, with highs of around 15°C. Evenings and nights are quite cold however, so you will need to take jackets and jumpers.

Spring and autumn
Only lasting a few short months, spring and autumn in Paphos boast idyllic weather conditions. Warm days and cool nights mean that you can take advantage of all the city’s attractions and activities in comfort, but be aware that the temperatures are highly variable at this time and it can quickly become quite cold.
