Weather In Larnaca

The typical Mediterranean climate of Larnaca is characterised by long, hot and dry summers, and mild, pleasant winters. With an average of 340 days of sunshine a year, you can be virtually guaranteed good weather during your visit.

Hot summers

Summer is the best time to visit Larnaca, when blue skies dominate and the gentle cool sea breezes along the coast help keep the heat in check. This is the prime season for sunbathing and swimming in the sea, with daily temperatures averaging around 30°C. The swimming season begins in April and lasts well into October. You won’t see much rain during the summer, just plenty of sun.

Mild seasons

Even in the dead of winter, the temperatures in Larnaca are warm and pleasant. Occasional rainfall may come to rinse the dust off of things, but most of the heavy precipitation occurs in the interior Troodos Mountains. The sea may be a bit cool for most swimmers in the winter, but during the spring and autumn, the water is still great. Spring is a fantastic time of the year, as the temperatures are refreshingly cool and the island bursts into life as flowers bloom and greenery pops out of every nook and cranny.
