Getting to Brussels
Being such an important city for European institutions, Brussels has some of the most convenient transportation options of any European city. The Belgian capital has a modern international airport serving flights from worldwide locations, while the road and rail links are fast, safe and convenient.
By car
Brussels can be reached quickly and easily from destinations across western Europe by motorways. The E40 motorway leads into the city from the Bruge direction, while drivers heading to Brussels via Antwerp can use the A-12. Both motorways intersect the capital’s Petit Ring motorway, which circles Brussels.

By rail
There are plenty of excellent rail options to Brussels. The city is on the Thalys high-speed train network, which links the Belgian capital with Paris, Amsterdam and Cologne. Visitors from the UK can take the Eurostar directly to Brussels via the Channel Tunnel.
By bus
Long-distance buses arrive from across Europe at the Bruxelles-Nord bus terminal. Most long-distance routes are operated by Eurolines including UK services, which depart from London’s Victoria Coach Station three times a day and use the Channel Tunnel.
By air
Brussels International Airport is extremely busy and has a very convenient international flight schedule to main cities worldwide. The airport is modern and spacious, with a full range of facilities and amenities. All major airlines are served by the airport, which has regular and reliable ground transportation links to the city centre.

Located just 14kms from the city centre, Brussels Airport is very convenient and offers great facilities and amenities for passengers and visitors. The airport serves hundreds of scheduled flights daily to locations worldwide, with the UK airports of London Heathrow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, East Midlands and Edinburgh all well connected.
Main airlines include British Airways, BMI, Virgin Atlantic, SN Brussels Airlines and most other national carriers. The terminal is modern and especially geared to business travellers, with a great range of equipment, services, lounges and conference rooms.
Brussels International airport transportation
There are several convenient ground transportation options linking Brussels Airport to destinations across the Belgian capital. Airport City Express trains leave at least twice every hour and stop at Brussels Midi, Central and North stations, with the journey taking around 20 minutes.
Buses bound for the city depart from the station beneath the Arrivals Hall, which is accessible by escalator and elevator. The Airport Line is the fastest and most convenient route for most visitors, and leaves three times per hour. Other routes operate to various destinations around the city. Taxis are available outside the Arrivals Hall.
