Bruges Transport

Getting around Bruges is easy, with most of the city being easily accessible on foot. Alternatively, many people choose to take boat tours of the main canals, which exposes visitors to many stunning buildings and bridges. For longer journeys, bus travel is readily available, or alternatively, you can take a taxi.

By bus

Bus services in and around Bruges are operated by De Lijn and cover an extensive part of the city and beyond via its network of over 50 routes. Most services depart from the main bus station, located next to the railway station, while some commence from another station at 't Zand. Reasonably priced day tickets can be bought, giving the holder unlimited travel on the citys buses for up to 24 hours.

Taxis

Taxis can be booked via telephone from local providers such as Taxi Snel (tel: +32 050 363649) and Bruges Taxi Service (tel: +32 050 334455), or hired from taxi ranks located at Markt and the station.

From the airport

From the airport, you can connect with Brussels via train, bus, taxi or hire car then continue on to Bruges with any of the same forms of transportation. Distances between major centres are not long in Belgium, making the journey a comfortable and convenient one.
