Graz Weather

Graz has a moderate continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers in southeastern Austria are generally warm and pleasant, and not too hot thanks to the surrounding mountains. Nights are cool and refreshing, and sometimes a light sweater is needed. Rain can fall any time of the year, but it comes hardest in the summer months in the form of brief and dramatic afternoon thunderstorms.

Winter

Despite being in southern Austria, winters are just as cold and snowy as up north. However, the days are often bright and sunny, which help to make it feel warmer. It snows often during the winter, so come prepared.

Spring and autumn

This part of Austria is influenced by the Mediterranean climate and as such, it is much warmer and sunnier overall than the rest of the country. Spring comes early in Graz and offers wonderfully fresh weather. Autumn is probably the best time of year to visit. The clear blue skies and crisp daytime temperatures make the outdoors even more enjoyable.
