Where to stay?

A quick ferry ride across the Swan River will take you to South Perth, where you can find many interesting apartment-hotels, which are self-service and very roomy. The Perth Hills, on the eastern fringe of the city, is a lovely area for bed and breakfasts.

The picturesque port town of Fremantle is the other major site for accommodation around Perth. Although it’s 19kms from the city centre, there is excellent public transportation and many of Perth’s attractions are located in Fremantle anyway. The coastal districts of Cottesloe and Scarborough are perfect for beach-based hotels if lounging on the sand is your main objective.

When to visit?

The busiest time of the year in Perth is from December to February. Many hotels raise their room rates during these peak summer months and reservations are highly recommended.
