Fishing

The ‘top end’ of the Northern Territory is nothing short of a fishing paradise. It is the home of Australia's premier fresh water sport fish, the Barramundi, or ‘Barra’ for short. Each year, thousands of anglers from around Australia and the world travel to Darwin and the ‘top end’ in search of Barramundi. While the Barramundi is definitely a popular target species for anglers, the ‘top end’ also has some marvellous blue water sports fishing available and an expanding charter boat fleet ready to take anglers to the best fishing grounds.

Wildlife viewing

Australia is a land full of weird and wonderful animals, found nowhere else on the globe, and to miss them during a visit to the country would be disappointing. To see some of the country’s creatures, head to the Territory Wildlife Park. This world-acclaimed nature attraction is nestled in 400 hectares of natural bush-land and is a 45-minute drive south of Darwin.
