Alice Springs Weather
As is typical of Australia, the weather is suitable for sightseers year-round; however it can get unexpectedly chilly on winter evenings, making it essential you bring some sweaters as well as your shorts.
Winter and summer
The weather at Alice Springs, in Central Australia, is quite varied, with cold winter nights and scorching summer days. Winter nights, from to June to August, can get quite cold, and occasionally temperatures dip below zero. The days however are cool with some sunshine.
Summer days can get very hot and it is recommended that visitors wear hats to protect themselves from getting sun burnt. The climate is also quite humid.
Spring and autumn
Travellers who wish to avoid the Australian hot summers should visit Alice Springs during spring or autumn, when the weather is pleasantly cool, with balmy evenings and warm days. There are some scattered showers, but these are usually light and pass fairly quickly. In the evenings, there are cool winds blowing, making it very pleasant to sit outside under the shade of a tree and listen to the kookaburras.
