Phuket Weather

Weather in Phuket is divided into three annual seasons: the cool season, hot season and the rainy season. For most westerners, the cool season is hot, the hot season is really hot and the rainy season is hot and wet. Temperatures rarely drop below 25°C, whatever the season.

Year-round heat

Out of all of the popular tourist areas in Thailand, Phuket experiences some of the most constant temperatures. Highs and lows only vary by about 5°C over the course of the entire year.

Rainy season

The rainy season, which coincides with European summers, sees rain generally falling within the span of an hour or two in the late afternoons. The rain cools down the temperatures, allowing for fresher air. With the high temperatures, the rain is not cold and can be like having a warm shower.

The rainy season is generally shorter and more pronounced in Phuket than it is elsewhere in Thailand, with the rain increasing in September and petering out by October. January and February are the best months to visit if you want to avoid the rain.
