Krabi Weather

Krabi is located in a tropical climate zone, which is just above the equator. Its two seasons roughly correspond to the tourist high season (November to April) and low season (May to October); however, the temperature rarely drops below 27C throughout the year.

The sea is a pleasant 30C year-round. Avoid jungle treks or visits to national parks if you are sensitive to humidity; levels of humidity in Krabi are high, ranging from 75 to 100 per cent.

Hot and dry

Most visitors head for Krabis beaches during the hotter, drier months. However, as has been the case over recent years, it doesnt mean it wont rain during the dry season. Note that during March and April, Krabi is almost guaranteed a dry heatwave and temperatures can hit a high of up to 36C at this time of year.

Cool and wet

Although the wet season is a less popular time of year for tourists to visit, it doesnt mean that you cant enjoy gloriously sunny spells for sometimes weeks at a time. However, prolonged rainy spells during September and October are virtually guaranteed, with May, June, July or August being better times to visit during the low season. It might be a good idea to pack a light sweater or a shawl for the evenings, since temperatures drop about 5 to 10C at night.
