Koh Samui Leisure
Sports and leisure activities are often centred around or in the beautiful clear-blue seas which surround Koh Samui. Diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing and parasailing can be enjoyed here, but there are also a number of activities which you can sit back and simply watch.
Diving
This is certainly the most popular activity in the region, and Koh Samui has a very interesting world under the sea. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the numerous dive schools on the island provide all the PADI courses, dive daytrips and hire and sale of equipment that you could want.
Thai boxing
In Thailand, Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, is the national sport, and like elsewhere, Samui has regular events. Bouts are held every Monday and Friday from 21:00 at the Chaweng Stadium, not far from the Reggae Pub. There are also regular fights at Lamai, and visitors can also learn the art at the Lamais gym.
Shooting and bowling
Samui Shooting Range near Chaweng offers visitors the opportunity to fire everything from small pistols to assault rifles under the supervision of experts.
Koh Samui also offers bowling, and a fairly new 10-lane bowling alley named the Living Bowl Centre can be found above Chawengs McDonalds.
Fitness
Fitness centres and gyms can be found in several hotels and there are also three private gyms on the island. World Gym is on the main road, Second Club can be found above the Seaquest Restaurant at Chaweng and Lamai Gym is located in Lamai.
