Meanwhile, accidents while on holiday are just as likely in Bangkok as anywhere else in the world. Medical facilities in the city are excellent, and private hospitals will only treat visitors with health insurance, cash or a credit card, so it is advisable to buy separate insurance to cover for any emergencies. Adequate travel insurance can also cover the costs of cancelled or curtailed journeys as well as replacing personal items that are lost or stolen on holiday.
