Hong Kong Weather

Hong Kong has a subtropical climate, meaning it experiences hot and humid summers, mild winters and a substantial amount of annual rainfall. One of the best times to visit Hong Kong is during the autumn (September to early December), when temperatures and humidity are more forgiving.

Spring and summer

Springtime in Hong Kong extends from March to May and sees average temperatures in the region of 17°C to 27°C and a humidity of around 84 per cent. In addition, fog and rain are common during these months, while by May, it gets much hotter and more humid.

Rainfall, temperatures and humidity are at their highest in the summer (May to September) and it can be stifling even at night. Summertime also happens to be typhoon season in the city and you will definitely need air-conditioning in your hotel room.
