Beijing Weather
The best time to visit Beijing is during the autumn months of September and October, when the days are warm and sunny, and evenings are clearer and cooler than in the summer months. Springtime is also a great time to visit Beijing, when the ubiquitous city pollution is blown away and the tourist numbers are generally lower, apart from at Chinese New Year.
Spring and summer
Although the summer months from June and September enjoy the hottest temperatures (sometimes above 40°C), rainfall is also at its highest during this time, as are foreign tourist hordes. Domestic tourists tend not to travel so much during the summer, so the hotels and attractions aren’t so busy. Air-conditioning is a must during this time. The spring is much cooler and offers better travelling weather, with little rainfall and lower daily temperatures, yet getting about can be a nightmare around the time of the Chinese New Year.

Winter
Due to Beijing’s latitude, winters can be extremely cold, with temperatures often dipping to as low as -20°C or less. Northerly winds increase the wind chill factor and snow is a common feature during this time, as is air pollution.
