Transportation to Cape Town
Cape Town International Airport handles all of the domestic and international flights into the area. Located about 20 minutes from the city centre by car, this modern airport is well-connected to the city by shuttle bus. Cape Town also has regular train and bus connections to other major cities in the country. Once youre in the city centre, it is easily navigated on foot thanks to its compact size and natural boundaries.
What to see
Despite being a quaint and beautiful city, the real attractions in Cape Town come from nature. Right in the centre of the urban landscape is the amazing wilderness area of Table Mountain, full of forests, hiking trails and botanical gardens. To the south of the city lies the Cape of Good Hope, with all its dramatic windswept coastal scenery. Head inland and you will reach the well-developed wine country of South Africa.
After dark, Cape Town comes alive with a thriving bar and restaurant scene. During the summer months, the whole city seems to turn into one big party as outdoor concerts, festivals and other events are held nearly every evening.

Safety issues
Cape Town has a long history of strife and violence. Though amazing headway has been made in recent years to diffuse the tensions in this city, an element of crime still pervades everyday life. It is strongly suggested that you buy some travel insurance before your trip to ensure that any mishaps dont ruin your holiday.
