Tangiers Weather

Tangiers enjoys a unique location at Africas very northern tip, only 14kms from Spain. A dynamic mix of Moroccan, European and African civilisations, Tangiers welcomes visitors to explore its vibrant atmosphere and Mediterranean weather.

Hot summers, freezing winters

The climate in Tangiers is generally dry, with the exception of the period between November and March, when the city receives a small amount of rainfall. It can get very hot in the summer, especially in the southern and south-eastern desert areas, but the temperature usually drops in the evening.

Those in mountainous areas will feel the cool breezes in the evening, even during the summer. In the winter, the temperature drops dramatically and it can get very cold, so be prepared to pack sweaters and coats to keep you warm.

The best time to visit Tangiers is in the late spring, when the weather is at its most pleasant. Early summer is also an ideal time to travel to this fascinating city. There is very little rain and the weather is warm during the day and refreshingly cool at night, with an average temperature of 19C. If you dont like heat and humidity, avoid coming here during the summer (July to September), as the weather can get extremely hot.
