Marrakesh Weather

Known as the Pearl of the South, the city serves as the centre of Morocco and it is here that you will find plenty of action. Marrakesh, located in south-western Morocco in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, is a precious gem that visitors yearn to explore. Because of its pleasant climate, Marrakesh receives a number of holidaymakers year-round.

A cold country with strong sunshine

Boasting a Mediterranean climate, Marrakesh is best visited in the spring and autumn, in March, April and October. In spring, you can see the clear blue sky after the winter rain and many beautiful flowers in bloom. If you want to see the desert, visit Marrakesh during the winter.

January, February and March are usually chilly or rainy. Summer, which is between July and September, is the ideal time to explore the High Atlas. The temperature in summer can reach 40C, which is extremely hot if you are not used to the heat.

If you are a non-Muslim traveller, visiting Morocco during Ramadan is best avoided, given that the whole country will be quiet and most shops and restaurants are closed during the day. Ramadan normally takes place at the end of the year and it lasts for one month.
