Getting to Casablanca

Casablanca is the transportation hub of Morocco, and the city is served by ferries, trains, buses and airlines. Ferries make the crossing from Spain, with onward connections available by train and bus; and a number of airlines provide international service directly to Casablanca.

By air

Casablanca’s main airport is the Mohammed V International, where scheduled flights arrive from domestic and international points of origin. Domestically, service is available from Agadir, Marrakesh, Oujda and Tangier; and internationally from points in Europe, the Middle East and North America. In particular, there is frequent service from airports in France and Spain, and additional, scheduled international service from New York, Dakar and Dubai.

By ferry

Ferry service is available from Spain to Morocco, with the major crossings between Algeciras and Tangier. Once arriving in Morocco, bus or train services are available for connections to Casablanca. It is also possible to take a ferry from France to Morocco, but the trip duration is around 35 hours. Departures are from Sète in France, and the ferry arrives at either Nador or Tangier, from where connections to Casablanca are available by bus or train.

By train

The city of Casablanca has two rail stations that are operated by Morocco’s national rail service, the ONCF. Casa-Voyageurs, located in the centre, is the main station and the arrival point for most long-distance services. Trains arrive here from the south (Marrakesh and El Jadida) and from the north (Rabat), and continue on to Tangier, Meknes, Fez and Oujda. The airport shuttle service connects Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport with Casa-Voyageurs.

The secondary station, Casa-Port, is located by the port and is the primary stop for commuter trains coming in along the Kenitra-Casablanca corridor. In addition, there are a few connecting trains running on to the main station, Casa Voyageurs.

By bus

CTM (the national bus company) operates an inter-city bus service connecting most major towns and cities in Morocco with Casablanca, and there are various private lines providing services on these routes as well. Buses arrive at the Gare Routière, which is located on rue Léon l'Africain in the city centre.

Casablanca Airport

The Mohammed V Airport (CMN) is located 19 miles south of the city. The airport has one terminal building, with a full array of passenger services and facilities including ATMs, banks, restaurants, snack bars and cafés. You’ll also find a shopping centre in the Departures Hall and numerous duty-free shops in both the Arrivals and Departures areas. Business travellers will find a well-equipped business centre that has internet access as well as copy and fax facilities.

Casablanca airport transportation

A shuttle train service connects the airport with the city’s main train station and the port. It departs from the airport’s Arrivals Hall, and the duration of the trip to the city is approximately 45 minutes. Taxis are available outside Arrivals, while buses also depart from here to the centre.
